Overview

How can we create AI interactions that bring joy to others?

Most AI today is built to make work faster, not life more joyful.

Problem

Current AI solutions in the consumer space hurt emotional wellbeing.

AI currently acts as the source of joy, creating a direct emotional dependency.

AI needs to shift from being the destination to being the bridge.

AI is the source of joy.

Treating AI as the source of joy, rather than a tool, is linked to lower mental wellbeing.

80.3%of donated Character.ai chat sessions sought emotional or social support.
1 in 3teens who use AI companions chose them over a real person for serious conversations.
21,900people had signed a petition to save GPT-4o by February 17, 2026.

Without a clear purpose, AI ends up filling emotional roles it can’t safely carry.
